“Building and nurturing relationships is critical to business success. Prospector 2.0… allows individuals and teams to easily create new contacts or update existing contacts from anywhere they work; including their inbox, on the web, or while browsing social media.”

— Jon Ferrara, Nimble CEO

Today the team at Nimble CRM rolled out Nimble Prospector 2.0, a total revamp of their browser extension designed to capture contact info effortlessly.

Billed as “a simply smarter way to engage everywhere you work,” the Nimble Prospector 2.0 comes hot(ish) on the heels of Nimble 5.0, a version of the CRM released last summer which delivers powerful enhancements to the platform’s already easy-to-use relationship management software.

With each release, Nimble’s aim is to save you time and improve your team’s overall workflow.

New in Nimble Prospector 2.0

Capture any contact with first name, last name, and company

Without flipping tabs or using your CRM, Nimble Prospector 2.0 allows you to create and update contact information.

The browser extension allows you to create a new contact record just by hovering over, or highlighting, a name on a company webpage. You can also highlight a whole page or block of text and generate multiple new contact records in one fell swoop. All you need for the app’s AI to work its magic is a contact’s first name, last name, and the name of the organization they work for.

This is very useful for any time you want to build up a new list of contacts: say if you’re about to attend a conference and want to make a list of people to reach out to, or speakers to check out, or if you’re about to initiate a marketing campaign and want to do in-depth research on a specific customer segment.

You can also quickly add people from Twitter, LinkedIn, or Facebook, and collect their information automatically on the sidebar tool. Nimble Prospector 2.0 works in Outlook/Microsoft Office 365, Gmail, and G Suite Inbox, as well as in many third-party applications, like QuickBooks, as well.

If you click through a page or switch to another browser tab or program, the data you’ve harvested doesn’t get deleted. Everything is stored unless you choose to manually delete information or close the Prospector app without saving.

Lead qualification and nurturing

You can qualify your leads with auto-generated contact profiles that search keywords for work experience, education, social profile info, location, biography, and more. Then you can add in lead details like lead status, lead source, and lead type. You can also easily type out and apply tags to each contact, which enables you to segment and search later.

From within your contact record, you can set up next steps, like apply notes, log past activities, schedule new events, email directly from the app, send a Twitter DM or mention a contact on Twitter.

There’s also an option to mark a contact as important, and you can create a “Stay in touch” reminder (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, or custom time frame). Calendar sync between Office 365, Gmail, and G Suite lets you stay on top of scheduled meetings and activities with your contact.

If you’re targeting specific businesses, you can get help with that too. The extension brings up web-trawled, AI-verified insights into the company itself when you open their website, like number of employees, date founded, revenue, whether the company is public or private, and the industry they operate in.

Keep your contact records tidy, up-to-date, and useful

The sidebar will show you a history of user activities, communications, and deals, as well as notes, social and email messages, plus it can notify you of any sales opportunities. The history of interactions will include actions in custom fields you’ve defined, and social media activity, including Twitter mentions.

Nimble has put a lot of work into improving the way they look for duplicate contacts.

If you have multiple contact records, Nimble gives you full visibility and the ability to select and merge contact records easily into a single new contact record.

And because you’re busy and probably don’t want to be ducking between tabs to pull up contact-related documents, you can also attach files to contact records from Microsoft Onedrive, Google Drive, and Dropbox.

Trawling the web, building your network

Nimble has always offered the tried-and-true CRM features you’d expect, things like pipeline management, marketing automation, and sales intelligence, but at the same time, its ‘value-added’ emphasis has always been on contact relationship management and social media tools.

Their creed is that sales are ultimately about deep customer insights and relationship building. As a result, the platform has put a lot of developer hours into making sure their CRM contact management integrates well with email and social media for one-on-one insights. For example, the 5.0 platform update last July added “inline” edit details to its contact record system (eliminating the need for special editing buttons and actions), as well as tracking of hyper-specific (i.e. “granular”) contact activity.

When you consider this contact-centric vision of CRM, and the fact Nimble’s prospecting tool Smart Contacts App, has long been a “fan favorite,” it’s not surprising that Nimble decided to concentrate on a re-design of this product feature

Nimble relationships

Nimble Prospector 2.0 is designed to jumpstart new relationships and revive and update existing ones.

The new feature works wherever you’re already working, without the need for any extra steps or heavy lifting. By bringing contact management directly into your browser, it simply becomes an intuitive part of your daily routine.

You’re already busy, after all; every smart shortcut helps.

The Nimble Prospector browser extension upgrade is included free of charge in any regular Nimble subscription (worth noting here: if for some reason you’d like to go back to Smart Contacts App functionality, you can always flip back to the old browser extension).

The vendor’s email and phone enrichment tools, meanwhile, are an add-on feature, now known as Nimble Prospector enrichment credits. Those on the Nimble Business plan get 25 credits per user per month, while Legacy plan subscribers get 10 credits per user per month. Credits can be shared with other users on the same team; additional credits are billed on a monthly basis.

If you’re already using Nimble, you will definitely be pleased by the Prospector 2.0 upgrade. And if you’re not a Nimble user, this may well be the right time to do a free trial and check it out.

Meanwhile, there’s more Nimble 5.0 feature upgrades to come, so stay tuned!
